Blog-a-thon Day 26
I Caught You
Two strangers, connected by sons
A smile
A knowing glance
Says
I know and it’s ok
I support you
I cheer you on
I caught you walking a parallel path
“Hello there” say her eyes
I found them right away amongst the tables
My eyes respond with a brief reply
“Like you, I show up to include
To give joy to my boy, my man, my son”
That’s all they need to say to make the connection
From outside our bubble
They stare
But I do not care
Well, maybe a little
But I’m too busy to dwell there
Because he needs my guidance
More napkins
Another metal tray of pickles
And another
A Thursday dinner at the deli
The Nobel’s are just trying to have a life
Though sometimes it feels a little hard
We show up anyway
I caught you, my stranger friend
Your smile said it all
Thanks for saying you know
Thanks for connecting
It meant the world to me
Now hurry up with those pickles, garcon

Blog-a-thon Day 25
Andrea Beaulieu's Daily Ah-Ha hit the spot today.
"I want, I want, I want. Do you ever feel this way? (Nah, not me!)
Happiness is not having what you want, it is wanting what you have. Okay, maybe both, but that kind of happiness is often short lived. Chocolate, on the other hand... "
You can subscribe to these daily gems at AndreaBeaulieu.com
On another note, want a sneak peek, or sneak listen to Leah Nobel's upcoming CD? Of course you do. I would be remiss if I did not point you in the right direction... LeahNobel.com
PS Please do something really awesome just for you today. Yup, chocolate counts- but go for the good stuff.

Blog-a-thon Day 24
I'll just come out and say it. I'm just not feelin it today. Not feeling what? Inspirational OR inspired. It's been a weird, out of sync day for me. Kyle ended up home with me for half the day because of a schedule change.
We had lunch. My sister-in-law delivered a fun, random type birthday gift bag of goodies. We took a walk in the warm winter Arizona sunshine and sat on a rock for a long time. It felt like we "should" be doing more until I told the "should" voice I was putting it on mute for now. I would have given anything for a peaceful day like this when Kyle was in crisis last fall. And here, my "should" voice was trying to ruin the moment. Perhaps you can relate.
Then I showed up at the computer, all ready to blog and instead found myself answering emails and on facebook. Darn Facebook. While I was there, I looked around for something inspiring, but didn't find anything.
Back to my email. I replied to MP and saved our friendship. MP did something courageous. She was offended by something I did, actually something I did not do, was hanging on to it- since probably about October, and decided in the interest of our friendship, to tell me. I was able to clarify (she was missing information about the situation), and voila, we made the repair and can continue to be friends without those yucky, awkward feelings that come from festering misunderstandings like this. Thanks MP- you did good.
So this all leads me right to....? Here. As I said, not feelin it. Rereading my meandering above and thinking you will have to use it as ingredients to make your own inspiration today.
I'm drawing a blank on how to close, so going to end with a picture that makes me smile!
PS I think this is one of the best photographs we have of Kyle in recent years. If you know Kyle, don't you agree? You'll have to go right to the blog to see it... AutismWithAttitude.comBlog
