Blog-a-thon Day 26
I Caught You
Two strangers, connected by sons A smile A knowing glance Says I know and it’s ok I support you I cheer you on I caught you walking a parallel path
“Hello there” say her eyes I found them right away amongst the tables My eyes respond with a brief reply “Like you, I show up to include To give joy to my boy, my man, my son”
That’s all they need to say to make the connection
From outside our bubble They stare But I do not care Well, maybe a little
But I’m too busy to dwell there Because he needs my guidance More napkins Another metal tray of pickles And another
A Thursday dinner at the deli The Nobel’s are just trying to have a life Though sometimes it feels a little hard We show up anyway
I caught you, my stranger friend Your smile said it all Thanks for saying you know Thanks for connecting It meant the world to me
Now hurry up with those pickles, garcon
